Let’s talk about grief for a minute.
I know grief can be really hard to go through.
It can feel uncomfortable and overwhelming.
This is true. There’s no denying it.
But, if you create space for it in your life, grief does really important work for you. It helps you look at, and process, the changes and losses you go through.
Grief helps you let go of the past, so you can be truly present in the moment. It creates the space for new experiences.
Even though grief is difficult, it deeply supports us.
That being said, I really don’t think grief is supposed to be experienced alone. And maybe that’s part of why we’re so scared of it. Our society doesn’t give us many ways to hold space for each other and make room for grief to do it’s work.
The emphasis is more on getting things back to normal and returning to the status quo. I think this is a real disservice. Grief is supposed to help us make changes, to help us keep track of what truly matters to us. When we ignore it, we lose this information.
So, let’s do this together. Let’s be brave and invite grief to do it’s important work in our lives.
