How to Relax and Let go…

Does surrendering sound like giving up? Or like drifting along with the current?

Is letting go relaxing or terrifying?

How do you find the balance between action and surrender? Planning and faith?

These are all questions I’ve been thinking about these days.

how to relax and let go

When I get stressed out, sometimes I realize I’m trying too hard-pushing to make sure everything comes together, that my friends and family are happy, that our vacation plans are perfect, that I’m getting things done…

And even if things are going great, all of a sudden I feel exhausted.

That’s when I remind myself to take a breath, and let go…

…let go of my sense of control, of my need to be “doing” all the time…

It can be hard to keep in mind and feel in your body that you’re supported. That you don’t have to hold yourself up all the time (the earth does that), or struggle to make sure your life falls into place (we don’t have as much control as we’d like to think).

And even though letting go can be scary, especially for someone like me who likes to charge around with a plan and a to-do list, it’s also SO freeing, relaxing, and critical to your health. And you may notice that regardless of what you do, things still work out the way they’re supposed to.

I made today’s guided BodyTalk meditation to help you (and me) find the balance between action and surrender, giving and receiving, creating and accepting.

I hope you enjoy following along to relax, let go, and let stress and tension leave your body and mind…
