How to Get Out of Your Head and into Your Heart

In the organization chart of our bodies, our hearts need to be on top.

Our thoughts and mental insights are a hugely important tool, but in the end, life is easier when we let our hearts take the lead. We’re more calm, aligned, and insightful when we’re centered in the heart.

get out of your head

Unfortunately, this can be tricky because your mind has a tendency to believe it needs to be in charge.

When you get caught up in overthinking and over-analyzing, it makes it that much harder to access the wisdom of your heart.

Often, this happens gradually, so it can be hard to catch it before it carries you away from your center. We slowly wind ourselves up, and by the time we notice we’re stressed and out of alignment, we’re too tightly wound to simply take a couple breaths and get re-centered.

We try to meditate, but can’t sit still. Or, we’re just too mentally busy to remember to pause and take time for the self-care we know we need.

Today, I’ll lead you through a guided meditation that will help you break this cycle of over-thinking so you can get out of your head and into your heart, gently and with ease.

This BodyTalk meditation will help you…

  • Let go of overthinking
  • Sit to meditate more easily
  • Release stress and anxiety
  • Access your inner calm
  • Trust your deepest wisdom

We live in a society that largely values “rational thinking” over intuition and inner knowing (I put that in quotes because I don’t think they’re mutually exclusive), and this can feed into our tendency to turn away from our deepest resources in favor of overthinking.

Let’s let go of this conflict, and allow the brain and mind to relax into service of the wisdom of the heart, so we can live life more connected to ourselves, and access our inner peace and guidance.
