What are you feeling at the moment?

Check in invitation; what are you feeling at the moment?

And, is it how you want to feel?

Are you…

…. relaxed and at ease?

… calm, but alert?

….a bit wound up or tense?

Whatever you’re feeling, this is a reminder that you can restructure your habitual go-to feelings to be more in line with how you want to actually experience your life.

What you tend to feel, your “go-to” mode, will dictate a lot of what your moment-to-moment experience is like.

And, when you’ve had experiences of prolonged stress or trauma, your baseline/ “go-to” might be a bit tense, anxious, or stressed.

And, it might take some intentional focus to relax.

This is a normal response to stress and trauma.

But, with gentle awareness, this baseline can shift…

…so that over time your go-to mode is more often ease, being-ness, or even gentle joy.

So, for the moment, this is an invitation to relax.

To take a moment to access whatever it is you actually want to feel.

And, to remember that you can return to the intention, again and again, to shift into how you want to feel more of the time.

You can choose to prioritize presence…to prioritize calm…to prioritize peace…to prioritize the experience of ease that comes from allowing yourself to just “be.”

And, if stress or worry is more your “go-to” right now, thats ok, and I can relate.

It’s ok if it’s easier said than done.

It’s ok if it’s a process.

But, I would say it’s a process worth doing.

Here are a few suggestions for how I help myself come back to a place of calm when I notice I’m more worked up:

  • Journaling
  • Meditation
  • Movement
  • Being outside
