How to lymph brush: Immune system boost that your skin will love too 🙂

Who?

You!

What?

Lymph brushing!

Why?

So many reasons!

The lymphatic system, which carries lymph fluid throughout your body, is an important part of your immune system. It delivers germ-fighting white blood cells where you need them and removes bacterias and other pathogens from your blood stream. Yay lymphatic system! The downside is that lymph has a tendency to become stagnant in certain parts of the body. When this happens, you can't get rid of waste and bacteria efficiently, it weakens your immune system, and the sluggish areas can become hotbeds for infection and damage the nearby cells and tissues. Luckily, 60-70% of your lymph vessels are located just beneath the skin, so you can easily give them a manual boost! This is why lymph brushing is such a great tool for supporting the immune system. As an added bonus, it exfoliates your skin and has been known to reduce cellulite. If you don't have a brush, don't worry, I'll give you some ways to get the most important benefits without one : )

How and Where?

In this short video I show you how to lymph brush: the general technique, what to do if you don't have a brush, and the 7 major areas to focus on where lymph tends to accumulate.

Is it really that warm and sunny in December where you are?

No! I filmed that in July and saved it for you. It's freeeezing here right now. Hope you're staying warm and dry : )

How often should I do it?

It's safe to do as often as you like.  I usually end up doing it every 2 to 3 days. And there are wet and dry methods. You can do it in the shower, or you can do it dry and then rinse off.  Whatever you prefer.

Do you have any other really great lymph brushing ideas?

Why yes I do!  1. ) Essential oils: If you opt for the brush (over squeezing or the hand method), you can add in a drop or three of your favorite essential oil to make it more soothing (lavender, rose,...), or more invigorating and cleansing (tea tree, rosemary,...). 2.) Intention or Affirmation: For some added healing focus you could concentrate on a particular intention while you brush. You could send gratitude to each body part as you work with it, or you could focus on an affirmation such as: "Each cell in my body shines with health and wellness," or "I love and appreciate myself," or "I am healthy, vibrant, and strong," or...anything really. Whatever sounds good to you. I hope you enjoy adding this into your life in whatever way it fits. Lymph brushing is one of my favorite quick and easy ways to feel refreshed and taken care of.  heart
