Question:
How much space do you create for all aspects of yourself? ✨
How much gentleness can you bring to all of your own being?
Spaciousness, in and of itself, is healing.
It’s soothing for your nervous system.
It helps create safety for the parts of you that have been hiding, afraid or in the dark.
It allows for more presence in the moment, and acceptance of what is.
For me at this point, spaciousness in my system is a palpable, recognizable physical feeling.
I notice when I’m feeling spacious… and I notice when I feel more contracted and pressurized.
One feels expansive, easeful, and way more fun. ✨
And the other feels a bit crunchier…more smushed. (And then, from there, the trick becomes finding spaciousness within the crunch, instead of fighting with the contracted feelings 💗)
The key to letting spaciousness guide you is to prioritize it…moment to moment… ✨
…to set your intention to allow it to be your baseline…
…to feel into it, let your system get used to it, create a relationship with it…
Then, when crunchier moments emerge, that can just be information…data… a clue that there’s something inside that would benefit from your loving attention and awareness.
Getting into the habit of letting spaciousness guide you can take some practice…
…especially if you’ve learned habits and patterns of putting pressure on yourself in order to make progress… which is often a natural response to periods of trauma and stress, and to societal and familial conditioning.
I’ve found through years of experimenting with this practice of spaciousness though…
… that contrary to what these internalized habits may want you to believe…
…this approach actually helps you move faster...
…in the direction you actually most deeply want to go.
And, the more often you exist fully in a place of spaciousness, the more where you most deeply want to go may also start to become more and more clear to you. 💗
Like anything else, this is a practice.
Moving back into spaciousness when you feel crunchy is not always easy.
But, if you prioritize it, it is always possible.
So, I invite you to set the intention along with me now...to decide that spaciousness will be your baseline.✨
Choosing is always step one.
Take a moment to ask your system to show you what spaciousness feels like…
…let yourself explore and enjoy the feeling…
….and allow yourself to re-orient around this feeling as part of your guidance system…a place to return to…a deeply safe space for yourself…
…a space from which you can make all of your best decisions and take your most aligned actions.
I invite you to return to this intention as often as it takes for it to become second-nature…
…And watch how often what you actually most deeply want is what you start to experience ✨
