How to Stay Balanced Over the Holidays

As we gear up for this often busy season, I thought I’d pass along some of my personal strategies to help you stay balanced over the holidays.

Whether you LOVE the holidays or find them a bit stressful, it’s typically a time that our usual self-care routines go out the window.

While it’s great to have a chance to indulge in things we usually don’t, and to get out of any ruts we might be in, it can be easy to lose track of the things that help us feel balanced and healthy.

So, my main strategy to stay balanced over the holidays is to pick a few simple tools beforehand that I know will help me feel grounded and balanced.

That way, when you’re in the thick of it, you have a few strategies in your back pocket to quickly tune-in and get centered.

So, I invite you to take a moment now to reflect…

What are three simple ways you can easily and quickly take a moment to check in with yourself and make sure you’re centered and balanced?

Here are my three for this year:

  1. The cortices technique- balancing your brain is great for re-setting stress levels and settling into your body

  2. Lymph brushing (with lavender oil)

  3. Simple, gentle yoga

These are three very simple things I can do that I know will help me feel connected to myself, regardless of what else is going on.

So, as you can see, they don’t have to be big things! Just little things that help you take a moment to check in with yourself : )

What are your three?

I’d highly recommend actually writing these down! You might think you’ve got it in your head, but when things get really busy, it’s so easy to forget what helps you settle in.

Let me know what your strategies are in the comments below! And in sharing, you might inspire someone else : )

I’ve also put together this list of quick pick-me-up meditations and tools you can use when you need some techniques to help you relax. You can go through them here:

I’ve also added a few videos to my facebook page, so you can see them all in a row there : )

I wish you a joyful, connected, heart-full holiday season! Happy Holidays!
